I am now in the process of returning the item .. Had done a lot of internet research and was ompletely disappointed .. And this happened on day 1 itself .. the clu was not breaking when i was swingiong with it and yet when i would try a swing with my regular driver, it would go spinning o the right .. so essentially my problem was not addressed at all .. it may have some very fringe benefits .. perhaops for a person who has just started golf .. but if you are even slibghtly more than a total beginer – this would be a completel waste.

I am a 3 handicap golfer and hoped the Refiner driver would help identify a recurring problem I have off the tee, which I think is happening at the top of my backswing. I was hoping a hinged club would breakaway when I was swinging improperly, but not this one. In fact, it seems to breakaway when you do something right, rather than something wrong. This is probably because the club is hinged along the swing plane, so when you swing off plane, there is less pressure on the hinge than when you are on plane. I tried a couple of really bad hacking downswings just to test this theory and sure enough, the hinge did not release.
I will have to concur with some of the other comments that this club is good for a higher handicap golfer trying to develop a smooth tempo. In reality, all this club does is hinge when your swing gets jerky. It is otherwise not a very accurate diagnostic tool. And you can’t hit balls with it because it hinges at impact, making you hit the the best slice of your life.
I did order it with the grip trainer grip which is useful get your hands set properly.

NEW 2008 REFINER 2 WAY HINGE 46OCC DRIVER SWING TRAINER
I got instant results. I am not sure why others had a problem. I am about an 18 handicapper who didn’t drive the Ball all to bad until recently I started to get the dreaded duck hook. I received this yesterday (a Friday). Watched the video Saturday morning (for those who seem to have a problem, I would venture to say they didn’t set the torque right. They give excellent instructions on doing that), practiced in the yard and went to the Driving range. Not one duck hook
I think this Club, if properly used, could help the mid-handicapper immensly.

This club is so frustrating at first but w/ a little persistance and really being patient w/ learning how to swing it, it really pays off. It has helped completely cure my slice. Worth the purchase and would do it again.

I don’t know why the other users didn’t recieve any benefit from this club. Maybe they didn’t loosen the hinge enough to where it would break. I have the medicus 5 iron and I decided to go with this driver because the price was way better than the medicus. Does the exact same thing for less. This will help you get your swing on plane and help you with your tempo as well. I use this with the the swingyde and that is where you can really start to see the benefits from both products. Shots are going straighter and farther. I recommend this product to anyone who as ever thought about buying a hinged swing trainer.
