My son is 3 1/2 and is not a good swimmer just yet. But, he is very independent, loves the water, and wants to play and “swim” around without me holding on to him. This belt has worked perfectly. He floats along, but the belt also positions him for better “swimming” motions. His arms are free to stroke, unlike with some other products. I am very happy with this purchase!
